Six circles to a sheet.

The Belsnickel is the tall, lean, hooded Father Christmas of the old German tradition, long before the round red suit - here in robes of barn red, midnight blue, cream, mustard gold, sage, charcoal and walnut brown, walking snowy forests, lamplit lanes and candlelit cottages. An antique chromolithograph look: soft faded color, fine shading and gentle crackle.

Choose Your Sheet

Sheet 1 (6 designs): Moonlit Village, Holly Portrait, Feather Tree Table, Village at Dusk, Footbridge, and Winter Morning Pines.

Sheet 2 (6 designs): Forest Path, Frosted Window, Hand Sleigh, Christmas Mantel, Lamplit Lane, and Snowy Field at Dusk.

Both sheets (12 designs): the full set, two sheets.

What You Get

Printed 8 x 10 inch rice paper sheet(s), 6 circles per sheet

Each circle 3 inches across

Sized for ornaments, jar lids, coasters, tins, gift tags and card fronts

What Rice Paper Is

Rice paper is a fine mulberry tissue that all but vanishes into the surface once it is sealed. The fibers soften at the edges, so a design melts into wood, glass, candle wax or fabric instead of sitting on top of it like a sticker. It is the paper decoupage artists reach for when they want the image to look painted on rather than applied.

Perfect For

Wood slice and flat disc ornaments, round jar lids and tins, coasters, primitive Christmas signs, candles, trays and box lids, journal covers, mixed media and collage, and anywhere you want an old-world Father Christmas to look like he was always there.

How To Use

Tear or cut the circle out - a torn edge disappears more softly than a cut one. Lay it on your surface and brush decoupage medium over the top, working from the center outward. Let it dry, then seal. Do not soak the sheet before laying it down; rice paper is strong when handled gently but will tear if it is wet and dragged.

The paper itself is the white, so anything the art does not cover stays clear. These look their best on white, cream or pale painted surfaces.

Printed And Shipped By Me

Each sheet is printed to order in my studio on a color laser, so the ink is sealed and will not run under decoupage medium. Sheets ship flat between board in a rigid mailer.

This is a PHYSICAL item.
